Paul Lloyd Jr. (born 3 March 1981) is a South African professional wrestler, best known for his tenure in World Wrestling Entertainment, where he competed under the ring name Justin Gabriel. Lloyd was originally trained by his father, Paul Lloyd, Sr., a promoter and wrestler in South Africa, who was also known by his ring name The Pink Panther. His grandfather was a professional boxer and amateur wrestler. Lloyd grew up watching his father wrestle and in the early part of his training he used to practice in the backyard of his home, in which two rings were positioned. He made his professional wrestling debut at the age of 16. Using the ring name "PJ Black", he formed a regular tag team with Ray Leppan called Pure Juice. His father was murdered, right in front of him during Lloyd's final year in high school, and a year later he moved to the United Kingdom for five years. Lloyd spent five years in the United Kingdom, where he trained with Frontier Wrestling Alliance. He was trained by Alex Shane and Mark Sloan. In 2003 he made his FWA debut. He also made an appearance in International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom. Through 2000 until 2008, Lloyd wrestled in the UK and in South Africa. In 2008, Lloyd signed a three-year developmental deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. He trained in the company's developmental division Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where in 2010, he won the FCW Heavyweight Championship as Justin Gabriel. His training tenure ended in 2010 when he was promoted to the main roster as part of the upstart stable of new-coming wrestlers known as The Nexus, led by ''Stu Bennett'' (known on-screen as Wade Barrett). This angle lasted from 2010 until 2011 before Gabriel eventually migrated into singles competition. Introduced in later years in the company as the Capetown Werewolf, having adopted howling during his entrances and during matches, Gabriel continued to remain a fan favorite with his high-risk, high-flying wrestling style.Toward the end of his run, Gabriel was primarily used as a jobber. His last televised match was a loss to Rusev on the January 14, 2015 episode of Main Event. On January 23, 2015, Gabriel had quit the WWE the day before the 2015 Royal Rumble. After WWE, Lloyd continued his career in professional wrestling. He adopted the name PJ Black in his post-WWE matches. In 2016, Lloyd made is film debut in the feature Azteq vs the Prowler (2017). Show less «
